Keyless entry programming for Toyota & Lexus vehicles for keyed ignition keys can be done at home in just a few easy steps:
Option One
Keyed Ignition Key
Keyless Entry Remote Programming Procedure (3min)
1) Open driver's door and close all other doors.
2) Insert the key to the ignition switch and remove. Repeat one more time. (Do not turn the ignition on)
3) Close and open driver's door two times.
4) Insert the key to the ignition switch and remove (just once)
5) Close and open driver's door two times.
6) Insert the key to the ignition switch
7) Close driver's door.
8) Turn the ignition to the ON position, Turn to the OFF position and remove the key
9) Door locks cycle once to indicate you are now in keyless entry programming mode.
10)Press the LOCK AND UNLOCK buttons together for 3sec, release both buttons and press the LOCK button to program your remote. The door lock should cycle ONCE, confirming the remote was accepted. If door locks cycle TWICE, the remote was not accepted, repeat step Ten (10)
11) Open driver's door to exit programming mode and test the remote.
12) If the procedure failed, start the car on for a few second, turn it back off, and repeat the above steps.
Option Two
Keyed Ignition Key
Keyless Entry Remote Programming Procedure (3min)
1) Open driver's door and close all other doors.
2) Insert the key to the ignition switch and remove. (Do not turn the ignition on)
3) Cycle driver's door lock Five (5) times (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, ...)
4) Close and open driver's door.
5) Cycle driver's door lock Five (5) times (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, ...)
6) Insert the key to the ignition switch
7) Turn the ignition to the ON position, Turn to the OFF position. Repeat one more time and remove the key
8) Door locks cycle once to indicate you are now in keyless entry programming mode.
9)Press the LOCK AND UNLOCK buttons together for 3sec, release both buttons and press the LOCK button to program your remote. The door lock should cycle ONCE, confirming the remote was accepted. If door locks cycle TWICE, the remote was not accepted, repeat step Ten (10)
10) Close driver's door to exit programming mode and test the remote.
